How do you approach to exercise? Do you make the time in your schedule to fit exercise in? If so, what do you do and are you getting the results you want? Since I was 14 years old I saw the value of exercise in my life. I think the way you decide to exercise is a critical factor in getting you started and keeping you motivated. As an adult it is very easy to live a busy lifestyle and for regular exercise to be squeezed out. You’ve probably thought to yourself at times how you want to get in better shape, look and feel better, get more toned, have more energy, etc.
It takes intention to set yourself up for success, whether you are able to set a schedule and stick to it, find a friend to workout with or hire a trainer. I’ve met with so many clients who say, “if you weren’t hear I wouldn’t be working out.” Then after the workout, they feel good from the workout and over time they get in great shape.
Through getting on a regular exercise program you can also get in great shape. You can lose weight and reduce body fat, get your muscles lean and toned (reduce the flab), look and feel better, have more energy and stamina, fit into your clothes better, have better posture, increase your flexibility and balance, improve your performance in sports, reduce your stress, sleep better, feel more alive and vibrant, etc.
I have found that many people start off with an aesthetic goal. They usually want to lose weight and tone up and get in “better shape.” Once they start working out, they feel better and handle their stress better. Exercise powerfully affects their minds as well as their bodies. There has been a lot of research about the mind-body connection to exercise. People experienced reductions in feelings of anxiety and depression from exercising. Through exercising the body releases chemicals which help one to feel and cope with their life better.
